IT? IS?? Not in the US Government!

I work for an organization that used to be called FRAS (Federal Reserve Automation Services) - now we're FRIT (finally got Info Tech in the name) but that name is all-encompassing and represents all of these departments.. ready?
1. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Windows (my group)
2. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Unix
3. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Storage
4. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Application Integration Middleware
5. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Database
6. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Automated Operations
7. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Enterprise Management
8. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Performance
9. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Network Management
10. Services Delivery, Distributed Computing - Hardware

Then, each of these is duplicated for Mainframe Computing, except 1 & 2 are consolidated, and 10 is replaced by the Computer Operations group that oversees all systems. And - this is all I can think of before a LARGE cup of coffee! (BTW - this is application server management only. The workstations and file servers are handled by a separate organizational structure!)

Oh, and my title - even more bizarre.. Everyone in my group is an "Operating Systems Programmer", yet we aren't supposed to program anything, and even scripting is fairly discouraged!

Happy Holidays!

Glenn
