There are also a couple of other ways to do this..
(1) Hfnetchk - from http://shavlik.com > not scriptable, but pushable.
(2) Daisy - includes hfnetchk, qcheck, etc. http://vtwug.w2k.vt.edu/daisy.html (you have to be logged in as a member of the local Administrators - a
possible limitation)
Are there any command line options for Daisy?
"-r" will tell Daisy to force (and I mean force) a reboot of the local system if new hotfixes were installed
"-s" will make Daisy silent, no interactivity.
"-l" will make Daisy make a copy of the output.txt to YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.log
"-h" will make Daisy hide the running application window in the taskbar
"-m" will tell Daisy to not care whether the Messenger service is running or not
"-a" will not check to see if the local user running daisy is an administrator or not !DANGEROUS!
"-o" will tell Daisy to download the XML datafile from the local FTP server as mssecure.zip (otherwise it will get it from shavlik's site via http)
"-i" will tell Daisy to ignore the timestamp on the XML datafile and always download a new copy (otherwise it will try to be smart and not download more than once in a day)
"-?" will tell Daisy to parrot back valid command line options then quit
"/?" same as -?
(3) There are a number of scripts here too. If memory serves, there are at least one or two in the UDF Section.
