Oh, you've got me. Not only am I from Boston, I also happen to work right smack in the middle of town with free view onto the Green Monster. Unfortunately, we can't look into the stadium itself, that Monster is just plain big.
BTW, I slowed down considerably with the RTFM phrase itself. However, I will continue to point poeple to the KiXtart Manual. The manual should always be the first point of reference.
And if you would look at my footer, then you'd see that I try to provide numerous online KiXtart resources.
The questionis rather why people don't bother doing their own hoemwork before asking for help? Most of the info and answers are readily available and it would most likely take less time to just look it up in the KiXtart Manual or this BBs compared to posting the question. And if somebody asks "How do I install KiXtart?" then why should I not point him to the manual or the FAQ Forum?

Sounds like the only one taking the criticsm well is JENS himself!! I appreciate that...and I think JENS understands and has already gotten what he needs out of this post...which is what the board is for.
The rest of this is just blabbing about what most of us know is true.

I think it is still funny how you managed to pick out Jens, out of this crowd of irrascable admins and programmers we have for Moderators here.
Jens, Shawn, and Kent are the politest and most courteous of the bunch of us... leaving Myself and Les and possibly Lonk (only if he runs out of Vodka) as the most ... 'abrasive' of us.
Les is a great guy, just don't confuse him with a frenchie... I will not be held responsible if that happens

Don't forget about Doc and Cappy - they go out of their way to be nice too. I don't mind answering the same questions over and over. Its an easy way to bump your post-count and maybe even get a rating star

I understand the reason for the post and that the 'tone' of some of Jens' replies to these inane questions may be a bit harsh, but they brought it on themselves.
Obviously even if the person has a limited knowledge of Kix itself they obviouslyy have at least a basic knowledge of the Internet and were successful in finding this great site. They even went to the effort of registering and posting.
The flaw in most of the analogies listed is that this site is not a 'situation', this site is a community and most of the collective knowledge is documented and archived in a searchable form.

My last promotion was to a minor supervisory position (of 2 junior system analysts). I thought, "cool, job growth and fodder for my resume". Then the MGMT went and redefined my position to something like, "lock him in his office and feed him projects through the slot in the door. AND by no means, ask him a question pertaining to policy or staff or management."
The Last question I recieved from my supervisor was, "How can we modify the logon script to block internet access to a specific group of users" and he emailed me a link to the setProxy UDF I posted here.
I told him that we can't do it and to get with the lazy dumbass network managers and make a deny rule on the proxy server.
