all I was saying and all I say (while my new try at getting w2k work on my exotic wksta) is that the gui is just basically add-on to the util.

I got already used to the idea of making it skinnable but found that first it's too hard job for me and latest that kixforms does not support that.

anyway, as you all can see, the way I used to do my scripts is still visible in many places.
like in PM.kix or init.kix
looks almost 3.63 code.

now, if I could get the code renewing (that is essential for 3.0) going, it would make also the mainform... well, the main visible form a separate udf.

and if I get on it, I might make the all forms look the same.
so, they would not be anymore createobject forms but checkerform()s [Wink]

what I still am trying to say, is that the look&feel (which is all normal user sees in the appy) is totally secondary.
the old buggy board code needs a full renewal into cleaner one.
and after that will need to come the supporting udf's (loadnet, load, pmsend, pmread) which require the web.
and after that comes the gui.
and even in that level comes the control level only.
not the visible part.
control level consisting of timers and .tags and few arrays and zillion of temp-files.

and at the top of the iceberg is what you see, the GUI.

now, I've been wasting lot of time working on the GUI.
actually, most of the code time since 1.5 has been with the GUI.

and when I say that do change the gui I mean that if you don't like it, tweak it a little and suggest your tweak into new ver.
if others like it, it will probably... maybe... don't think so... be there [Big Grin]

Jooel,

I know we have talked about -

(1)Getting BBChecker to connect without having to click "Today's Active Topics"
(2)Getting BBChecker to be activated in the TaskBar when it is started. After being launched, you have to select the window to activate it in the Taskbar.

There is some caching going on, where I will be logged in for a while and then a bunch of topics start showing with the slider..

Cool.. Connectivity looks good..

(1)Taskbar coming to forefront is not working..
(2)PM still not working.. Will implement "work-around."

What about "traying" this too? Yes, I know a Shawn question.

Cool thought came to me..

In the settings screen -
Where you define the Beep Sound/PMBeep Sound have the ability to press the spacebar to navigate where the .WAV file is located.. We run an application that uses the Spacebar to bring up a file browser dialog.

Instead of Bbchecker being a task, you could run it from the Tray - like one of the other icons next to the clock. If memory serves me correct, we had asked Shawn about this and he indicated a programming change needed to do that.

Or better yet, run it with a "hidden" menu like Yo!Utilities - http://w1.321.telia.com/~u32102551/ ..

well, I can tray it without shawn too...
kinda.
I can make it even trayless.
like, when you click on your right mousebutton, it has a sub-menu for checker.

nonetheless, it still does require an process.
and in these kinda setups probably more processes than currently.

or, does you task mean something else than a process?

Reported it through PM too.

J,

Bring back (please) the url-to-jump-to-this-reply feature which jumps to the exact reply and not to the first post in the topic.

k, checked on the parse error.
if korg goes down the error checking does not always catch the error.
the reason is not certain as the error checking is quite thorough...
anyway, as this part is not gonna be there, I leave it be buggy for now.
