The credit for this really goes to Jochen, but would like submit that we add the following two new terms to the Kixtart Lexicon:

SplitJoining

Etymology: Dutch splitten, from Middle Dutch; akin to Middle High German splIzen to split and probably to Old High German spaltan to split and Middle English, from Old French joindre, from Latin jungere. Date: 1593

Transitive senses: The act of dividing lengthwise usually along a grain or seam or by layers and then to put back together to form a unit.

Example: Jens had a beautiful example of this other day:

$Path ='C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\'

$NewPath = join(split($Path,'\'),'\\')

The resultant string is:

C:\\Documents and Settings\\All Users\\Start Menu\\Programs\\

Would like to submit the term JoinSplitting as well, but really cant think of a good example of that [Frown] ... anyone ? [Wink]
