Problem with clipart.
The situation is;
Windows 2000 pro, Office 2000 SR1. Windows 2000 server running active directory. Users homedrive is in the format \\server\user$ , the users have a home drive set in active directory such that H: connects to \\server\user$
Users run a mandatory profile from the server. The mandatory profile redirects the following to the users home drive (H:\)
Desktop h:\windows\desktop Application Data h:\windows\application data Favorities h:\windows\favorities
The problem: We have just changed the home share so that it supports only one connection. Now when we open clipart from word we get an error:
An unspecified error has occurred. Clip Gallery could not complete the operation. For more information, Press F1 now and see Troubleshooting in Clip Gallery Help.
When we increase the number of connections to the home share to 2, clip art works. clip art is trying to open artgal.mmc from \\server\user$\windows\Application Data\ Microsoft\Media Catalog\artgal50.mmc <\\server\user$\windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Catalog\artgal50.mmc>
There are no registry keys that reference clipart on the PC (in HKLM or resulting Users HKCU) by drive letter or UNC path.
Finally, strange as it may seem ;-) MS engineers have promised to come back to us on this but have not - been waiting about a week.
Can anyone offer suggestions? I use kixscript so thought this might be a suitable arena for publication of this plea but there again, a MS Bulletin Board could be just as good perhaps. As I don't use a MS bulletin board would accept a suitable reference to one if that is all the help that is available.
Thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy posting.
