MvdP MvdP Fresh Scripter Registered: 2008-05-09 Posts: 6	Kixtart 4.61 running and script (mapping and add printers)is working on w xp machines. Today i'v got new W7 laptop and script is not working.! How can i solve this.? ;Drive mappings Use S: "\\ZFS\Software" ;Printer mappings Addprinterconnection ("\\ZFS\Plotter")

MvdP MvdP Fresh Scripter Registered: 2008-05-09 Posts: 6	When adding this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System EnableLinkedConnections =(dword)1 should solve my problem.

Are you testing via RunAs and expecting to see the connections in other windows? The registry hack you reference will associate multiple security tokens together, so that drives mapped with one token will be visible to sessions with a different token (such as your primary login ID and a RunAs session). Glenn Barnas Glenn Barnas KiX Supporter Registered: 2003-01-28 Posts: 4396 Loc: New Jersey	I hear you... but - GPOs run the script in a different token space, and the only way to get mapped drives on a MS Windows 7 or VISTA platform with UAC is to employ a hack that Microsoft won't support? (We reviewed this with our TAM a few months back and learned it was an "unsupported configuration", which is why we still use a login script for mapping resources, and logon scripts for other, specialized tasks.) I would think that a more supportable fix would be to run standard login scripts instead of GPO Logon scripts for drive mapping, which run in the current user context. Otherwise, if you have a problem, you either need to change to login scripts to get support, or lie to your MS tech. It still isn't directly a Kix issue (although I'm not such a "purist" that I'd be against discussing it..) Maybe it's too many years in enterprise environments, but this kind of thing makes me cringe. $;\)$ Glenn _________________________ Actually I am a Rocket Scientist! $\:D$

Now you can't tell which account has control of a resource. This setting certainly would not be acceptable in an environment subject to SOX, HIPAA, PCI, or similar security requirements.
